| Schwaben Teams excel at the Downers Grove Socctoberfest - Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Schwaben AC sent three teams to play in the 2011 Downers Grove Socctoberfest Tournament. This was a one-day format tournament with all teams playing a round robin in their division, leading to a championship game. Our two U8 boys teams found themselves on opposite sides of the Elite pool with the U9 National boys playing in the very competitive Premier division.
After a long day filled with weather challenges and great play, Schwaben swept the U8 Elite pool, winning both brackets and bringing home all the trophies. The U9 boys completed pool play with a 3-0 record, but lost a tough championship game to the Downers Grove Roadrunners.
Congratulations to all of the players and coaches. You represented yourselves and Schwaben well!

- U8 Boys Nationals finished their season in 3rd place in the NISL U8 Silver-2 Division
- U8 Girls Nationals finished their season in 2nd place in the IWSL U8 North Division
- U9 Boys Nationals finished their season in 1st place in the NISL U9 Platinum Division
- U9 Girls Nationals finished their season in 2nd place in the IWSL U9 B Northwest Division
- U9 Boys Olympics finished their season in 1st place in the NISL U9 Silver Division
- U10 Boys Nationals finished their season in 2nd place in the NISL U10 Silver-1 Division

Schwaben U8 Girls Nationals, U10 Boys Nationals and U13 Boys Nationals would like to thank Buffalo Grove IHOP for sponsoring their teams.

The Schwaben girl's teams, their parents and the coaches joined together for Breast Cancer Awareness. They are wearing pink t-shirts to raise awareness and to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In addition to "going pink" for the rest of the month, they also raised money and will donate it to breast cancer research!
